Wanneroo Horse & Pony Club held a Gear Checking Clinic and Accreditation on March 11th for several enthusiastic WHPC volunteers.
Diane Ould of Peel Horse & Pony Club delivered an interactive and engaging presentation split over two sessions, the first short session via Zoom held earlier in the week and the second session at home grounds on the Saturday.
We were grateful for the support of some of our youngest riding members Clara, Ruby, Seren, Sienna, Vittorio and their mums who volunteered their time and ponies for the attendees to complete the practical and assessment.
WHPC started the year with only one member an Accredited Gear Checker but will end the year with not only seven, but we also have the youngest! With special mention to Abigail Hill who at the age of 16yrs is WA’s Youngest Accredited Gear Checker. Well Done Abi!
This is a fantastic achievement for Wanneroo Horse & Pony Club and ensures we continue to meet our obligations as an affiliated club, adhere to safety protocols and standards set by the State and National bodies PCWA and PCA respectively for the safety of our riding members and welfare of the horses and ponies.
